Stop At: The Dorian, 2001 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
This walk begins with some impossible-to-miss lips courtesy of local street artist fnnch, known for his crisp multi-layered stencils of animals, "come-hither" lips and cartoonish honey bears dressed as celebrities. fnnch's lips are symbolic of today's Marina: hip, colorful, eye-catching, feminine and Insta-worthy.
Duration: 5 minutes
Stop At: Le Marais Bakery, 2066 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
Named after the head chef's favorite neighborhood in Paris, Le Marais is the epitome of the authentic French bakery - and is the most popular bakery in the Marina. You'll be trying one of their famous butter croissants paired with a cup of coffee courtesy of Verve Coffee Roasters. Just show the barista your app and enjoy!
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Lucca Delicatessen, 2120 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
Lucca's is the longest-running business in the Marina, slicing Italian salamis and cheese since 1929. The third generation of Boscos runs Lucca's today, and aside from adding a number system to the counter service, not much has changed.
Duration: 5 minutes
Stop At: Tacolicious, 2250 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
There's nothing more Tex-Mex-meets-California-cuisine than Tacolicious. Few establishments can put a "Marina Girl" salad on the same menu as a guajillo-braised beef taco and maintain their respect. Head on in, tell the host you're on a Sidewalk Taste, grab a stool at the bar, choose two tacos, and take in the scene.
Duration: 40 minutes
Stop At: Smitten Ice Cream, 2268 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
Chemistry and science are foundations of good cooking, but Smitten takes that notion to a whole new level. Smitten churns ice cream to-order, as you watch, using liquid nitrogen. You can see the 1,500-liter tank of liquid nitrogen sitting on the second-floor overlook. Head in, choose your flavor, show your app, and enjoy!
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Howells, 2373 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123, USA
After two decades of studying wine bar intricacies, serving sophisticated palates, and sampling his fair share of vino, Nate Welch struck out on his own. Welcome to Howells: the finely balanced wine, cheese and small-bites bistro that is upscale and approachable all at once. Head on in, show your app to the bartender, and choose between a glass of bubbly or a cheese plate.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, 3301 Lyon Street, San Francisco, CA 94123-1002
636 acres of the Marina used to resemble this grandiose temple of a different time and world. The Palace of Fine Arts is the neighborhood's lone surviving structure from the Pan Pacific Expo of 1915 - and it's a spectacular way to tie a bow around a wonderful day exploring one of San Francisco's most picturesque neighborhoods.
