In San Francisco kitchens, the Big Easy spirit is sometimes attempted, but never duplicated. The exception is Alba Ray's. Head on in and take in the scene: ornamental ironwork, hanging ferns, instruments adorning the walls, rustic wood floors, and fleurs-de-lys motifs. Is it weird, unnerving, bizarre . . . and completely fabulous? Yes! Paxton Gate is an eclectic cross between a gardening store, taxidermy shop, entomological treasure trove, art book retailer, and natural history boutique.

The Mission has no shortage of ice cream shops (there are five within blocks of here), but Garden Creamery reigns supreme as one of San Francisco's favorite scoops. You'll find all the classics alongside Hawaiian inspired flavors like Saffron Rose, Ube Pandan, Butter Mochi, and Black Sesame. Show you app and choose your flavor!
