Day 1: Arrival / San Jose

Arrival in San Jose. The representative will provide you with a welcome kit and provide you the drive to El Rodeo Estancia Boutique Hotel for your first night in Costa Rica

Day 2: San Jose – Tortuguero (B-L-D)

Early morning pickup for the two-hour boat trip to Tortuguero. A typical breakfast is served on the way. Arrive at the lodge for lunch. Afterward, take a hiking trip around the hotel property. After a delicious meal, you will relax along the canal's edge with a cocktail and enjoy the night sounds of the jungle.(Guide activity)

Overnight at Laguna Lodge or similar, STD Room, Full Board

Day 3: Tortuguero Canals (B-L-D)

After breakfast, enjoy a guided boat tour along the canals of Tortuguero National park. Entrance fee is included. Visit the canals within the National park to discover a large variety of birds. Afternoon you will visit the village to learn about Tortugueros' history, culture and work in favor of sea turtle conservation. The entrance fee to the Caribbean Conservation office (CCC) is not included. USD 2 per person has to be paid directly to the CCC (Guide activity)

Overnight at Laguna Lodge or similar, STD Room, Full Board

Day 4: Tortuguero - Arenal (B-L)

Enjoy a boat and bus transfer to Guapiles and a delicious lunch before heading to the Arenal area. Take a shuttle transfer to Arenal. Visit one of the nicest volcanoes in Costa Rica, rainforest and a lake world-famous for windsurfing. Late afternoon arrival.

Day 5: Arenal – Monteverde (B)

Morning at leisure. Afternoon pickup at the hotel for the scenic shared lake crossing transfer (boat-car) to Monteverde. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most diverse and rich tropical cloud forests in the New World, home to the Resplendent Quetzal and the rare bellbird.

Overnight at Trapp Family Lodge or similar, Superior Room, Bkfast

Day 6: Shared Monteverde Cloud forest and Sky Trek-Tram tour (B)

In the morning hike through the trails of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Then enjoy an afternoon adventure at the Sky Trek Zipline and Tram tour.(Guide activities)

Overnight at the Family Trapp Lodge or similar, Superior Room, Bkfast

Day 7: Monteverde - San Jose (B)

Afternoon return to San Jose on your shuttle/group transfer. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure to explore the area of San Antonio de Belen.

Day 8: Departure (B)

Transfer to the SJO Intl. Airport and flight home. Bkfast

Costa Rica is a very informal and casual country. Formal attire is only used in the city of San Jose and on very special occasions (Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries). We recommend bringing a sweater for the highland areas, and light loose fitting shirts, pants or jeans, and shorts for the lowland areas. For the beach areas please don't forget to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen, and sunglasses. For the rainforest and the National Parks, we recommend hiking boots, a small backpack, water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, insect repellent, rainwear, and a pair of binoculars to observe animals.
