Camino de los Siete Lagos is a section of National Route 40 in the province of Neuquén.

It has a length of approximately 107 km where you can appreciate the typical characteristics of the Patagonian Andes region: extensive forests, snowy hills and lakes.

This road crosses two national parks: the Lanín and the Nahuel Huapi.

The lakes that give name to the road, in order from San Martin de los Andes to Villa la Angostura, are: Lácar, Machónico, Falkner, Villarino, Lago Escondido, Correntoso, Espejo, Nahuel Huapi, although this last lake is not part of the "7 lakes".

It was built by architect Alejandro Bustillo in 1942 at the request of Mrs. Sara Log of Demaría. Its name refers to the tenth month of the year in the old French calendar that had established the French Revolution and means a month of gold in allusion to the spikes that radiate a golden tone at that time of year. It was purchased by the Province of Neuquén in 1964 for official residence of the provincial governor and has received the visit of local and foreign personalities.
