This will be our first stop, here you will see the marvelousPiedras Rojas (in English "Red Stones"), a singular rock formation in the Aguas Calientes salt lake, high puna of northern Chilean Andes. The Aguas Calientes salt lake belongs to the bigger Talar salt lake, of a surface of 46 square kilometres (18 sq mi) and located at an altitude of 3,950 metres (12,960 ft).

Stop At: Lagunas Miscanti y Miniques, Caracoles 174b, San Pedro de Atacama 1410000 Chile

Visit Laguna Miñique and Miscanti that are located at 4320 meters above sea level, in this place a walk is made.

At the bottom of the lagoons there are filamentous algae of the genera Ruppia and Potamogetom, from which some birds feed.

Stop At: Iglesia de Socaire, San Pedro de Atacama Chile

Socaire is a town located 86 kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama, in the second Region of Antofagasta at 3500 meters above sea level.

It is the last Chilean town on the CH-23 route to Argentina, through the Sico Pass.

Known for its small houses with no windows, the main historical heritage of Socaire is the old church, an artistic display of religious themes, with works from the colonial period. Its bell tower is made of stone

ocated in the Salar de Atacama, Chaxa lagoon is a tourist destination, as well as an ornithological observation station, it is characterized by being an altiplática lagoon of muddy strata and little depth.

It is located within the Wildlife Protection System of CONAF, and falls within the National Reserve Los Flamencos. It is considered one of the best places in Chile to see flamingos, since the lagoon allows the proliferation of microinvertebrates and microscopic forms, which are the basis of the diet of the flamingos, among other birds.

Stop At: Cementerio de Toconao, Ruta 23 S/N Provincia de El Loa, Toconao Chile

The town is part of the commune of San Pedro de Atacama, is located at 2,475 meters above sea level.

The name Toconao means place of stones, and comes from the words kunza tocknar, meaning stone, and ao, place.

According to hypothesis and scientific data, the ancestral sector of Toconao has a human life data -calculated from remains- of more than 12,000 years, there are traces of human development that exceed 10,000 years old in the lickanantai high sectors.
