Like Valle de La Luna, Vallecito (Little Valley) is located in the Salt Mountain Rang ; It is still a less visited place, but equally beautiful that allows us a more intimate experience with this particular relief on the edge of the driest desert in the world.
A topography carved by the rains and the wind during millions of years allows us to see different layers of very soluble sediments such as clay, sand, conglomerates and different types of salt, creating a unique and fascinating landscape. The reddish and muddy tones interspersed with white layers are illuminated by the intense sun of the Atacama Desert, creating a unique landscape that seems to be from another planet, and which in turn is framed by the imposing Andes Mountain Range, the spine of America.
Vallecito also allows us to visit ancient salt mines and take a look at one of the past lifestyles of the inhabitants of the Salar de Atacama basin.
