About this activity
Upon leaving the plane, a member of our team will be waiting to perform your tax exemption and guide you in the process of leaving the airport. Once outside, your guide will take you from the international airport to the city of San Salvador, in a 45-minute trip. All while discovering the history of this beautiful country.
Once in the city our first destination to visit will be the majestic volcano of San Salvador. We will climb to the top of this volcano, from where we will have beautiful landscapes of the city of San Salvador. The city of San Salvador rests at the foot of this huge volcano. From this first viewpoint, we can observe the lake of Ilopango, the Volcano of San Vicente, and if the weather permits, we can observe the Pacific Ocean. Without a doubt, an unmissable visit.
We will continue until we reach the top of the volcano. The El Boquerón National Park is located on the crater of the San Salvador volcano. The name refers to the size of the huge volcanic crater. Arrive at the crater take about 10 minutes through a walk in the middle of lush vegetation, full of beautiful seasonal flowers. The difficulty of the 10 minute walk is medium - low. When you reach the top you can be seduced by the scenic beauty of this magnificent volcanic crater full of vegetation. Walks through 3 viewpoints with different perspectives of the crater, the ideal place for a selfie.
We will continue with a visit to the city of San Salvador, knowing the most important monuments of the city, crossing the streets and avenues of the most modern metropolitan area. All the way to the Historic Center of San Salvador.
In this tour you will be able to see up close as it is the day to day for the Salvadorans, you will have the opportunity to walk through the open markets, and walk in the heart of the historic center of San Salvador.
We will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Salvador and the Crypt of Monseñor Romero. We will have beautiful views of the National Palace, we will walk in the square Gerardo neighborhoods. We will visit La Plaza Libertad and discover El Rosario Church, which looks like an abandoned building on the outside, but when entering the architectural beauty is unique at the continent level.
We will leave you again at the international airport two hours before your next flight, with the security of having fallen in love with El Salvador and wanting to return for longer time.

This was an excellent tour which was well planned and very organized. We were able to do a lot in a short time frame, including multiple vista points around San Salvador, a visitation to a local artist community, volcano vista and national park hike, churches, local cuisine, guided walks through the local markets and city center, San Salvador Cathedral and more! Really great communication from the tour company/guide by emails/whatsapp before the tour, as well as the tour guide upon our flight arrival. The whole process from the pickup at the airport to the airport return was easy and is very organized. Our tour guide Osmaro was really awesome, proving to be very knowledgeable as well as personable. In short, he made the tour even better in my opinion by really going the extra mile. If you only have a short period of time in San Salvador, I highly recommend this tour!
While stopping on purpose in San Salvador to enjoy a layover to get to know the basic of the city and attractions around this was a great choice.
