Tolosa Guided tour from San Sebastian

Tolosa, former capital of Gipuzkoa, is a town with a great historical significance where we will find a valuable historic centre with different styles of buildings. The old town is formed by narrow streets separated by numerous squares. The most remarkable church in Tolosa is the parish church Santa Maria of the 17th century, temple of the so-called Basque Gothic with a great beauty baroque façade. The church and the convent of Santa Clara, the baroque town hall, the palace of Idiakez, Atodo, Aramburu and the Deputation, the Provincial Archive, as well as the Euskal Herria square (that reminds to the the Plaza de la Constitución of San Sebastian) are some examples of the rich heritage of the town. Also, it is possible to find contemporany art in Tolosa, like some sculptures in the streets. Every Saturdays, takes place the Tinglado´s Markt where local farmers and pastoralists come to sell their high quality products. Neither can we forget their famous porterhouse steak and their numerous Steakhouses (of great tradition in the villa), nor the famous beans of Tolosa.
