About this activity
The El Paseo neighborhood of Santa Barbara is one of the city’s oldest areas, comprised of several historic buildings, including Casa de la Guerra, which was the home of José de la Guerra y Noriega, a Spanish Military Officer, Civil Servant, and early California settler. On our El Paseo Wine & Photo Tour, guests will go into this historic complex and view the restored structures, while learning about the founding of Santa Barbara and its early leaders. They will mosey their way through the cobblestone walkways to the various award-winning wine tasting rooms that make up the Wine Collection of El Paseo and are nestled inside the historic remains of the de la Guerra property.
The guide – a trained photographer, Santa Barbara local, and cork dork – will share fun facts about the region and its history, smartphone photography tips and tricks, and personal insights into the legendary Santa Barbara lifestyle and wine industry. New to wine tasting? Your cork dork/guide will walk you through the various steps of wine tasting and help you find wines that YOU enjoy.
Want tips on how to shoot more interesting travel pictures? Your guide will take you to some of the most scenic spots of the neighborhood and answer any questions you may have about taking better photos during mini photo lessons suited to the smartphone novice.
At the end of the tour, you’ll walk away with new knowledge about the wine industry, a host of stunning pictures, and a pleased palate too!
