About this activity
Begin your guided tour by dropping by our retail location to get perfectly fitted for your scuba gear. You can come in any day prior to your trip during our store hours (Monday-Friday, 8AM-6PM) to rent gear from us for free, or you can rent gear from a 3rd party provider at the location of the dives (additional $75.00 gear rental fee).
Departing from Newport Beach, your ferry (1 hour trip) over to Catalina Island will give you the opportunity to get briefing and further information from your scuba instructor guide. You may also have a chance to see dolphins along the way!
Upon arrival on the island, your guide will take you on a brisk walk towards Casino Point while giving you the history of the city of Avalon. At Casino Point, your instructor will help you get geared up and ready for your first dive, during which they will go over the details, tips, and instructions to help you master taking photos underwater.
After your first dive, your instructor will provide feedback on your photos, give you personalized tips on how to improve your shots, provide information on the best app to edit your photos, and even go over how to sync and upload the photos you took. You will then embark on your second dive, which will be a leisurely experience where you can use your newfound knowledge to take your own photos or have the instructor take photos of you and your underwater adventure.
The entire tour will take around 6 hours, but you are free to extend the duration and explore the island after your dives.
