Begin with a pickup in the area of your hotel, and then travel by coach to Teide National Park, the UNESCO World Heritage site that surrounds the mighty Mt Teide volcano in the center of Tenerife. As you travel, listen to your guide talk about the day’s itinerary, which differs depending on your pickup location.

Departing from south Tenerife:If your accommodation is situated in Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos in the southern part of the island, stop first in the mountain village of Vilaflor, where you’ll recharge with a drink and snack (own expense) at a local cafe.

Then, continue to the mesmerizing Los Roques de García inside the national park. With your guide, discover the types of flora that flourish here and get up close to the much-photographed Roque Cinchado and Llano de Ucanca.

Next, stop at Parador de Cañadas del Teide for lunch (own expense). Located in the Cañadas del Teide crater, the hotel boasts impressive views of Mt Teide and the Pico Viejo crater. If you’ve brought food with you, eat al fresco while you soak up the sun and jaw-dropping vistas.

After, make the most of free time to explore Los Roques de García. Alternatively, enjoy a cable car ride up Mt Teide (at own expense).

When the time comes, return to your coach and journey back to your hotel via the forested Chío area.

Departing from north Tenerife:If your hotel is located in Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island, travel through La Orotava Valley (Valle de la Orotava), an idyllic region filled with gullies and cliffs. Take photos of the lush landscapes, which are dominated by the ever-present Mt Teide, and explore the area’s top sights with your guide.

See where the towering Canarian pines grow, and then head deep into the heart of Teide National Park for an up-close look at Mt Teide. Should you wish, enjoy a panoramic flight on the cable car (own expense), or tour the park with your guide at no extra cost.

When the time comes, return to your coach and travel back to your hotel. Along the way, stop for lunch (own expense) at the National Park.

It was a 2 hour travel up to the mountain.. to lower station. On the day, weather wasnt great , so the cable car was closed. Nor there was any observatory to watch. we took photos in the 10 minutes when bus stopped and came back on another 2 hour drive through the mountains on the other coast. The views were good while coming down. People who have altitude sickness should think twice and also kids get very bored.

I was not very happy with this tour, because we had already been to the national park from the south the previous week, and I had booked this particularly because there should have been time available to go up on the cable car. When I phoned the office 3 days before to confirm, I asked whether I could buy tickets in advance and was told no, because the cable car might not be running due to bad weather, but I could buy tickets on the bus. Well, we turned up all kitted up for cold weather, got on the bus, and asked the courier, Juan Carlos, if we could buy the tickets. Then he said, oh no, this tour doesn't do the cable car, you need to take a different one which we could have, had we been told. So although the tour is good, if you have not done the park before, we were very disappointed. La Oratava is interesting but done before, except for the belen. So I would recommend it, but don't think you will be able to go up in the cable car!
