Itinerary

Healthy Hips: discovering your brain-nerve-muscle relationship
The objective of this retreat is to encourage mindful movement and recognize this brain-nerve-muscle connection to hopefully stop this cycle of deterioration that frequently begins with reduced movement due to pain, and leads to more stiffness due to inactivity.
Initially, we will start with asanas that calm our body, then proceed with opening the hips and aligning them with the shoulders. Ultimately we want to increase stability, discover asanas that sustain your personal flexibility, and strengthen the surrounding muscles.

Friday afternoon sets the stage for a revitalizing practice paired with a lecture explaining the anatomy of the hips.
Saturday, yoga sessions focus on anatomy and introduce asanas that relax and open the hips.
Sunday, yoga practice continues to integrate the restoration of hips’ flexibility with the alignment of the shoulders. After dinner, students will relax and watch the documentary IYENGAR: The Man, Yoga, and The Student’s Journey.
Monday, after a review, you will receive personal guidance on how to cultivate a mindful and beneficial yoga practice.
