Itinerary

Day 1: Santa Marta - Mamey - Camp 1

Stop At: Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia
The guide will pick us up at our accommodation in Santa Marta. We will meet with the rest of the group and leave for Mamey, where we will take an off road tour of 2 ½ hours by truck. Once we arrive at Mamey, we will eat lunch together and begin our trek with a 4 hour hike. We will be passing by rivers and waterfalls, where we will be able to swim and enjoy the lush nature that surrounds the currents. We will arrive at “Campamento 1 (Camp 1)” around 6:30 pm, where dinner will be served and we will spend the night in hammocks.

Day 2: Camp 1 - Sierra Nevada - Mutanzi - Camp 3

Stop At: Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Minca Colombia
We start the day with an early breakfast and then begin hiking. On this day we will walk for seven hours through the jungle of the Sierra Nevada and the Buritaca´s river valley. Along the way we will stop for lunch and pass through the Mutanzi indigenous village, where we will learn about the lifestyle of the local Kogui community, who also tends to all the sites of spiritual value in the area and uses them to this date in their ancient customs. We will finish the hike on arrival at “Campamento 3 (Camp 3)” at 6:30 pm, where we will have dinner and spend the night in tents.

Day 3: Camp 3 - Lost City - Camp 2

Stop At: Lost City, Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia
We will have breakfast early and start the trek up the famous 1200 steps that lead up to the amazing Ciudad Perdida. There we will have a professional guided tour and learn about the history and secrets of this magical place. At the end of the tour, we will have free time to explore the Lost City on our own for the rest of the morning. After we stayed at the lost city for a little while longer, we will return to “Campamento 2 (Camp 2)” where we are going to eat dinner and spend the night, before we embark on the last stretch to Santa Marta on the next day.

Day 4: Camp 2 - Mamey - Santa Marta

Stop At: Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia
After breakfast we begin the last trek of our tour. We will have to walk for three hours, passing by waterfalls and rivers, until we return to Mamey, where the van will be waiting for us to eat lunch and start the return to Santa Marta, where we will finally say goodbye to the guide and the new friends we made on our adventure. In our accommodation in Santa Marta our journey will come to an end.
