About this activity
"Teyuna" is the name Kogis gave to The Lost City, the name that represents the wind whispering between the mountains of 'la Sierra'. While a mysterious mist opens a glorious path showing off a sacred land, marvelous landscapes bloom with their glorious and natural beauty and where waterfalls and rivers bathe and custody the history of this magical place.

Please see the Itinerary section below for details on each day of the trek:

1st day - Beginning of an adventure right in the middle of mother nature

The tour begins at the meeting point or pickup from your accommodation. From there, depart on a 4WD vehicle for 3 hours approximately towards 'El Mamey', a place where you will begin the trekking for about 6 km to get to the first cabins, Adan or Alfredo, for accommodation to spend the night. During the trekking journey, you'll enjoy a variety of natural pools flowing directly from "la Sierra Nevada" where you will be able to swim and refresh yourself, to make out your adventure an extraordinary experience.

2nd day - Closer to Teyuna

Group will depart at 8:00 am from “'Adan' or 'Alfredo'” to resume the trip towards a third camping site “'Paraíso Teyuna'”, site where you will spend the second night which is 1 hour away from 'The Lost City', venturing for 8 to 9 hours approximately . Throughout this walk, you will border “'Mutanyi'”, an indigenous settlement inhabited by a Kogui tribe, where the scouting guide will provide local information and details.

3rd day - The Lost City

Finally, you will reach 'Teyuna'. It will take about 1 hour from 'Paraiso Teyuna' to The Lost City 1. Climb 1200 stair steps and as you ascend, you will find ancient terraces built thousands of years ago until reaching those archaeological rings, which were the main settlements of the extinct Tayrona culture. Along with this guided trip, you'll learn more about the ancient city and enjoy beautiful landscapes provided by mother nature. Thus, it is highly possible to enjoy a bath inside the "Pozo de la Juventud" (youth well), a magical place that, according to the legend, has miraculous advantages. Once the walk finishes, descend back to 'Paraiso Teyuna' to initiate the trek back towards the first cabin, where you will be spending the night “'Mumake ó Tezumake'”.

4th day - Adventure ends here

The days in contact with nature draw to an end, so it's the time to return to the city. The departure will be early from the second cabin “'Mumake ó Tezumake'” towards 'El Mamey' traveling back to Santa Marta for 8 to 9 hours approximately. Once you reach 'El Mamey', enjoy a scrumptious homemade lunch before riding the 4WD vehicle heading towards the city. There'll be some spare time to enjoy the company of your new travel mates, which made your trip an unforgettable adventure.
