About this activity
Your Marin food tour starts at Cowgirl Creamery in Point Reyes Station, where you’ll meet your expert guide and receive a brief culinary history of West Marin. Then, enjoy a tasting of all six of the Cowgirl Creamery cheeses and learn the story behind each one.

Take a stroll next door to Brickmaiden Breads – not typically open to the public – where you’ll feel like a privileged insider as you peak inside to witness the hard work that goes into every loaf of bread. Enjoy a fresh loaf from their wood-fire oven before heading to the Point Reyes icon, Bovine Bakery, to taste some delicious chai.

Next, hop in the van and make your way to Marin Sun Farms where you'll indulge in a grass fed burger tasting - try beef burgers, lamb burgers and the local favorite, goat burgers! You won't go hungry with the additional fried brussel sprouts, french fries, salad and famous water buffalo gelato, which just got voted best ice cream in America!

Next, visit Heidrun Meadery, the only place in the world making honey wine using the Champagne method. Tour the winery and bee gardens as you taste 5 different varietals of sparkling mead.

Farther along beautiful Tomales Bay is Hog Island Oyster Farm, where you can try their famous Sweetwater oysters. Throughout your tour, you’ll learn about how oysters are farmed and how they can help restore ecosystems.

Lastly, explore the fields of Table Top Farm and purchase some farm-fresh veggies from their farmstand.

You will leave with a full belly and a great appreciation for the beauty and bounty of Point Reyes!

The description does not do this tour justice. You accomplish and see so much in such a short period of time. Go hungry. Very hungry. Lessons in history, geography, farming, beekeeping, baking, oyster farming, winemaking, etc. Great tour, great place to visit, weel worth the time.

This tour is AMAZING. Elizabeth takes fabulous care of her guests and because she's such a part of the community, you really feel like a local when you're in Point Reyes Station and touring all of the different food shops/facilities. We ate so much and so well that day. We had fresh pastries, freshly baked bread, chai, Cowgirl Creamery cheeses, burgers and sides, sparkling mead, and raw and barbecued oysters. My girlfriends and I were celebrating a baby shower while the other couple on the tour was celebrating their 11th anniversary. I would highly recommend this tour for any special occasion and or simply for a lovely day out on the coast. 5 stars!
