La Vega Central is the oldest fresh market in Santiago. Here we will begin our tour, strolling around its colorful isles and catching the smell of the fresh fruit and veggies!

Spanish conquistadors built cities like a chess board, around a central square. Main public buildings were built around this central square.

Stop At: Metropolitan Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana), Plaza de Armas, Santiago 8320147 Chile

Originally built on top of an Incan temple, the current Cathedral was built at the end of the 1800's. Inside there are beautiful paintings, different altars and statues. The center of the Cathedral is dominated by a marble Ciborium placed on top of the archiepiscopal crypt.

Chile's presidential palace is surrounded by govenrment buildings and two squares. If we are lucky we'll catch the change of presidential guard! If you wish to go take the tour of the palace

Stop At: Cerro Santa Lucia, Rua Santa Lucia, Santiago 8320190 Chile

This park opened the 1870's resembling urban parks in Paris. Built on a rocky hill, there are water fountains and statues all around it. As well as a chapel, a fort and a view point on top of the hill with a 360° view of waht used to be the old city of Santiago.
