I had read that others were disappointed to have limited access to the resort facilities at the Lagoon during snow season, so it came as no surprise. The drive there and back was even more impressive than I had expected so it was worthwhile. Likewise the archaeological site was disappointing because of the damage that has been done and the difficulty we had finding the figures, but this was forgotten during the delicious tastings and snack in lovely surroundings. Our guide was very good.

All experience was good but have the wine tasting at 11am was not in my plans at all, wine tasting should be after the visit to the lagoon. Also, for the price of the tour plus having to pay for the lunch at the ski resort restaurant is too much money for the actual experience.

Our tour guide was Chris and he did a really great job. He picked the two of us up at our hotel at 9 am and he already had five other tourists. The minivan was big enough to hold all of us comfortably. The vineyard was interesting and the guide was very relaxed as he gave us a thorough tour. We then had a wine tasting of their fine product. We then continued up the side of the Andes until we were about a mile from the Argentina border. There, there was a self-paid lunch followed by the descent to Santiago. We arrived back at our hotel at about 5 pm. A very pleasant day that showed us a lot about Chile.

This is a long day in terms of distance travelled but it was worth it. The winery visited was harvesting and I was able to get into the processes in the vineyard. Two wines were offered for tasting. The trip continued to the Andes and a final drive up the mountainside of 29 traverses......if you dont like heights.....dont look down. Once at the top....the lagoon is beautiful. Again, be aware.....lunch in the hotel is expensive......they have a captive audience. A long day but well paced in terms of time at each venue.
