Pass By: Barrio Bellavista, Santiago Chile
Steer your way through the graffiti-filled walls of bohemian Bellavista, pausing to chat inside our immigrant neighborhoods that are vibrant and lively with Korean, Middle Eastern and Peruvian descendants. Bring your camera because few tourists stumble upon these yet to-be-discovered neighborhoods.
Stop At: Casa Museo La Chascona, Fernando Maquez de la Plata 0192, Santiago Chile
Next stop La Chascona, house of the famous Chilean poet and cultural icon, Pablo Neruda.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: La Vega Central, Davila Baeza 700, Santiago 8320000 Chile
Pedal with us through a few of South America’s most renowned markets, taking in an abundance of fruits, vegetables and native seafood. Pedal off the beaten path of most tourists and interact with true Chileans while they hustle as day breaks over the capital city, tasting, smelling, bartering and bantering.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Central Market (Mercado Central), San Jose Costa Rica
Discover the Fish and Seafood markets
Duration: 30 minutes
Pass By: Parque Forestal, Santiago Chile
Once everyone is set up with their bike, it’s time to ride! We pedal through Forestal and Bustamante parks on a mellow cruise to get oriented and learn some crucial Chilean slang and watch the locals make out in the grass.
Stop At: Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral GAM, Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins 227, Santiago 8320162 Chile
We leave the parks and hit the streets, making our way to the historical GAM cultural center, which sits in the hip Lastarria/Santa Lucia Neighbourhood. Try out your bell and turn the heads of the skinny jean and moustache wearing Chileans sipping coffee as you ride towards downtown.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: La Moneda, Moneda S/N, Santiago 9170007 Chile
Next stop is La Moneda, the Presidential Palace, where we’ll get into Chile’s political history and how it shapes society today.
Duration: 45 minutes
