Santo Domingo: Morning Walking History Tour Including Beer
Your local guide will explain about the city’s history, nature and vibrant culture. Together we will marvel at the many ‘first’ buildings that are scattered across Santo Domingo; the first convent in the Americas, the first hospital, the first restaurant and so on.
We’ll walk through hidden alleys and stop for a freshly brewed coffee and we’ll head to El Conde Street to meet some local artisans.
Then we’ll check out the neighborhood of San Miguel and meet some of the friendly locals that live here. We’ll taste delicious traditional Dominican treats at an old bakery and then we’ll savour a frozen beer surrounded by the stunning ruins of an old monastery.
Our last cultural stop will be at the stunning renaissance-style National Pantheon. Our tour will finish with a walk along the Calle El Conde and a stop at Columbus Park. Here we will leave you to explore the rest of our buzzing city.
Don’t forget to ask your local guide for restaurant tips and a few more sightseeing recommendations, there is always plenty to eat, see and drink on our gorgeous island!

We really enjoyed the walking part of the tour of Santo Domingo as well as the visit to Los Tres Ojos. A true gem of a unique American history! Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. If you're coming from a close-by resort, give yourself enough time to find the meeting point!
This was a great half day tour that you can do if you have a short time in Santo Domingo. Rainer our guide was an exceptional, Very friendly and informative also fun to walk around with. This tour will cover the main spots in Zona Colonial plus the beautiful Tres Ojos park. Unfortunately, The Colombus monument are close but I got a video shot of it.
The best of the tours we took with Viator's subcontractors. The tour guide was very friendly. The trip focused on the areas of Santo Domingo that would interest visitors. It is best to take this tour in the morning, because Los Tres Ojos' lakes glow blue and green, which can't be seen in the afternoon. The only issue we had was trying to find the starting point for the tour. Even the taxi driver had to use GPS to locate the fort.
