About this activity

After reaching Santorini, meet your local guide to begin your private sightseeing tour. The escort will have an itinerary set for you, however you may change the schedule as you wish. For your first stop, the guide will suggest a trip to Prophet Elias Mountain, the highest point in Santorini. There, you will have a panoramic view of the island as well as the Prophet Elias Monastery. Next, head to the Akrotiri Excavations and admire the ruins of the Minoan civilization. The Red Beach is next to the excavations and open for you to take photos or swim.

Once you have finished your visit to the Red Beach, make a short stop in the black sand of Perivolos, where you may relax. Then, drive to Oia, with a short stop at "Santo Wines" along the way. At the winery, you will have the opportunity to taste local products, including the famous Visanto wine. Move on to the Blue Dome church in Firostefani, known for it's wonderful views of the volcano. Finally, arrive at the northern tip of Oia and enjoy sightseeing, grab some lunch, or shop for some souvenirs.

We did a private tour with Elizabet who was amazing. We met her at the top once we took the cable car up to the mountain. The sites of white houses and blue domes was beautiful. We saw the red sand and black sand beaches. Learned about the significance of household doors to grapes and olive trees. the weather was amazing. The ONLY CAUTION I offer is that we purchased jewelry from PONIROS and BUYER BEWARE. Once we returned to the states and had it appraised the value was significantly lower. When we called the jeweler they say but you agreed to pay the price. Our view is that we trusted the jeweler was telling us the truth and validated it with his written appraisal. Long story short we are making an exchange in NY City for a new piece that they are having shipped in. Regardless, I am sure we will still be taking a bath on the purchase. That is the only bad feeling I have when I think of Santorini with is so unfortunate.
