About this activity
Book your daytime or sunset tour and start your experience with a hotel and Airbnb pickup.

Daytime Tour (available April to early November):Travel by a modern air-conditioned minivan to the first of the three traditional wineries and, on route, learn from your guide about wine production on Santorini and the varietals that you may try during the day.

Producing some of the most distinctive wine in the Mediterranean, the island owes its success largely to aspa, a unique blend of volcanic soil that lends its wines a rich minerality and crisp flavor. Grapes are grown in the shape of a basket close to the ground, allowing much-needed moisture from the island’s minimal rainfall to be retained effectively.

At each winery, enjoy a cellar tour with your guide to see how the winemaking process unfolds, from harvesting to maturing the wine. Plus, walk around a volcanic slope with vines to see the grapes first-hand, and sample glasses of Santorini wine galore – up to 12 glasses in total.Try popular varietals such as assyrtiko and vinsanto, and enjoy local delicacies such as cheese and tapas alongside wine-tastings.

Sunset Tour (available May 15 to September 30): After visiting the Estate Argyros or Boutari Winery, continue with a wine-tasting session at the old family winery of Gavalas and from there to the renowned Venetsanos Winery in time for Santorini’s legendary sunset. Head to the open-air terrace and enjoy a cheese and tapas plate to complement your wines against a stunning backdrop of the caldera and Aegean, just as the sun sets over the sea. Enjoy the delicious sweet Vinsanto wine before finishing your trip with a hotel drop-off.

Approximate duration of Daytime Tour is 4,5 hours and Sunset Tour 4 hours.

Everything was wonderful. Only thing is that the vineyard we went to visit was very small, on a random side street next to the garbage that was being collected. There are so many beautiful vineyards on this island. It may be more beneficial for prospective wine consumers to be inspired by a majestic island tour versus a tour with smelly garbage being collected. However, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and full of character and charisma and kept us laughing and entertained. He was also very gracious by taking our pictures from a beautiful vista sunset.

Guide appeared to be very burned out and shared mostly negative experiences with the group about other tourists and guests and how tired he was of them on the island. We felt like we needed to keep mum in his presence. Tour was just "going through the motions" and no substance or joy. We did enjoy the company of others on the tour when the guide was not around. Would highly recommend finding another tour.

This was a great tour. From picking us up at the hotel to the different wineries with wonderful wine, beautiful little spots, awesome education of wine and Greek wine in particular and Antonio our fantastic tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about wine, history, and food pairings as well as having a great personality. We visited Avantis Estate, Artemis Karamolegos Winery and finished at Venetsanos Winery where we watched a magnificent sunset.

This tour was so informative and fun! My wife and I have made trips to Napa Valley, CA and can honestly say this was one of our favorite tours ever! Antonio was full of knowledge and educated us on not only the wines of Santorini but the world! Highly recommended.

Our host, Angelo, was incredible. Very knowledgable, accommodating, and made the day fun. I learned a bit about wine that I didn’t know before and enjoyed the wines and snacks offered. Keep in mind, Santorini is largely whites and dessert wines.

I brought 13 people to Greece and this was one of several activities I planned. It was wonderful!! I loved that they picked us up and brought us back to our hotel. We went to 3 wineries and our guide was wonderful explaining how the grapes are grown (much different for our wine region) and how wine was originally made. He was very knowledgeable about the different wines and what paired well with them. The sunset at the third winerey was spectacular! This is a definite must do!!

Dennis was an amazing instructor on Santorini Wines. A tour worth taking, if you want to learn. We visited 3 wineries, each so lovely.

This tour was amazing! Perfect for beginners. We learned a lot. Angelo is a really entertaining guide. We actually went without having breakfast but it wasn't a problem because the food pairings were more than enough. I highly recommend this tour.
