From May to late October, a variety of flowers can be seen on the vast land of Hokkaido. In particular, the flower fields at Furano and Biei are covered by the fragrant flowers like lavender and so on, which turn the slope into a beautiful flowery rainbow on the canvas. Highlight spots include Tomida Farm’s lavender field with longest history of its kind in Japan, Biei’s Shikisai-no-oka made by flower patch-work, and the Garden Path full of different kinds of flowering plants.

Shikisai no Oka is a 7 hectare flower field on a hill carpeted with flowers from April to October. This blooming color feast for the eye features tulips, lupine, lavender, dahlia, salvia, sunflowers, and Japanese anemone.

Stop At: Shirogane Blue Pond, Shirogane, Biei-cho, Kamikawa-gun 071-0235 Hokkaido

Biei is renowned for its gentle flower slopes, as well as its painting-like Blue Pond.
