About this activity
Bonaventure Cemetery may not be the oldest cemetery in Savannah, but is certainly is one of the most famous and hauntingly beautiful in it's own right. It is the largest of the city's cemeteries, containing nearly 160 acres. You will explore the amazing lives of famous songwriters, poets, silent screen actors, photographers, war heroes and many other interesting people and events. This cemetery is located about 4 miles from our Historic District in Thunderbolt, GA a fishing village on the scenic Wilmington River.
Along the way you will learn about the Magnificent history of plantation life and it's Awe-inspiring residents. You will be dazzled by the Majestic live oaks and Spanish moss, as well as breathtaking azaleas and dogwood trees in the area and experience Vast symbolism that can explain the story of a person's life or their death.
