About this activity
This tour starts at 10am from the feet of the African American Monument on River Street. Arrive early to check in! Please wear comfortable shoes, as we will be walking on cobblestone, ballast and concrete terrain. This narrated walking tour will take you through the different ports of entry of the slave into the very area that the Slave Marts & Jails were established. Hear true stories and see the remnants of buildings and monuments dedicated to the heroism and honor of those from that time. Discover the untold stories of the brokers, attorneys and auctioneers!
