Come experience the rich history and unique charm of Beaufort, SC, a low country gem that Southern Living Named “The South’s Best Small Town.”. Tucked into winding, historic Antebellum streets framed by natural foliage and centuries-old, moss-draped live oak trees, Historic Beaufort has charmed visitors since 1512.

As we journey from Savannah, we will share stories and the history of the Coastal low country colonies. Once in Beaufort, we will begin with a 2 hour fully narrated overview to include historic downtown with its stunning Civil War era Antebellum homes and historic churches, we’ll visit a few of the movie sites – such as Big Chill, Forrest Gump and The Prince of Tides, we will venture to the historic Sams Plantation complex of Tabby Ruins on Dataw Island, you’ll learn about the Reconstruction Era and the area’s Gullah Geeche culture and visit the National Cemetery - the resting place for both Confederate and Union soldiers that died during the Civil War and also the resting place of many Medal of Honor recipients and other fallen soldiers from every conflict the US has ever been involved in.

You will then lunch on your own in the waterfront district followed by free time to further explore and/or shop downtown Beaufort. We offer discounted tickets for the Kazoo Factory – the only plastic kazoo factory in the US, see how they are made their history, the various versions and even make one yourself; or take a Beaufort River boat tour a great way to explore all the natural beauty that Beaufort has to offer; horse drawn carriage tours are available or you can visit a local museum - Learn the real saga of America at the Santa Elena History Center, founded in 1566, Santa Elena was the first European settlement in North America or visit the Verdier House museum, it was the Federal Headquarters during the Civil War.

You will thoroughly enjoy the beauty, history and culture of this sea side community.
