The way to the castle Neuschwanstein, can be put depending upon season, on 3 different ways. Either on foot, by bus or by horse-drawn carriage (costs are not included). The tour of the castle last for 30', you just have time to enter few room, listen to your audio guide and as soon as the speech for the room is over, you are forced to move to the next room. The Castle itself is wonderful, the best I have seen but the experience of visiting it is not enjoyable..

This is exactly as described: a perfectly organised trip, and our trip was led by with an enthusiastic and interesting guide. We had a lovely time, and as well as making the visit to the castle enjoyable, our guide also suggested lots of other things to do afterwards, which did. It made for a memorable day. It was the perfect way to visit Neuschwanstein Castle.

I admit it, I waited too late to buy tickets directly from the Neuschwanstein website. My only safe option was to buy skip-the-line tickets here. I found this listing to be confusing b/c the itinerary lists both Castle Neuschwanstein and Castle Hohenschwangau (2 hour stops at each). I called Viator to ask for clarification, and the agent contacted the tour operator and told me that BOTH castles were included on the tour. Turns out, only Neuschwantstein was included, but not the smaller Hohenschwangau. And while the description says that you can either take the bus or hike to the top of the mountain, I was not given that option and had to hike it up. The guide was kind enough to give me her water bottle b/c I was not prepared to hike up a mountain that day! She had to then catch up to the body of the tour group who were well ahead of me. So, to sum up: 1) This is ONLY for the Schloss Neuschwanstein. 2) Expect to have to hike it up the mountain. 3) Save yourself a lot of money by planning ahead and buying the tickets online at least 3 weeks in advance directly from the castle's website. 4) The tour guide was nice and spoke excellent English.
