About this activity

This 2.5 hour tour offers the amazing off-road desert experience to individuals and small parties who do not wish to pay for a private jeep tour. The tour starts with a pickup from the entrance to the visitor center in the town of Mitzpe Ramon.

The tour goes into the the Ramon crater and visits many of the geological highlights of this amazing realm of rocks.

During the tour we will explore the ancient layers of sedimentary rock, climb the windy road to some amazing viewpoints, discuss the mining operation and the recent restoration of abandoned mining sites, stalk some of the local wildlife (with our cameras only) and, time permitting, stop for a tea break under one of the impressive Acacia trees.

The jeeps and Land-Rovers used for this tour can seat up to 6 or 8 people. Passengers are kindly requested to show consideration towards one another and switch seats between the various stops, so everyone gets to enjoy the front window view.

All tours are guided by local experienced guides, who will be happy to share the knowledge and experience of the desert and Israel in general.
