Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Seattle for the Pacific Coast: Lake Quinault & Kalaloch Beach

Stop At: Lake Quinault Lodge, 345 S Shore Rd, Quinault, WA 98575, USA
Your adventure begins with an escape from the Emerald City for the Pacific Coast. As we drive around the southern end of Olympic National Park on iconic Highway 101, you’ll find First Nations history, questions of land use, and troves of bigfoot mythology – ancient beings thougth to stealthily stalk the mountains, forests, and waterways of the rugged Olympic Peninsula. Our first stop is the beautiful Lake Quinault home to record-setting giant trees and off-the-beaten path walks.
Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Kalaloch Beach 4, 167422 US-101, Forks, WA 98331, USA
After losing ourselves (so to speak) in the towering trees, we’ll head for the Pacific Ocean and Kalaloch Beach. Explore tide pools or just sit back and contemplate the vastness of the Pacific as waves crash onto the shore. Our cozy camp features local beer, charcuterie, a private beachfront, and a crackling fire. Enjoy some time to wander and unwind. Your guide will cook dinner for you over travel stories and the sweet song of the ocean’s pulse. Later, it’s off to bed in unforgettable off-grid, locally-built mobile tiny-cabins.
Duration: 4 hours

Meals included:
• Breakfast: Morning local coffee, tea with pastries and fruit.
• Lunch: Local, organic lunch with local wine! We'll find a quiet spot outside (weather permitting) for a picnic and big views.
• Dinner: We’ll cook dinner for you tonight as we gather near the beach to enjoy the pulsing rhythm of the ocean & a cold drink.

Accommodation included: Sleep soundly in the heart of Olympic National Park in private, comfortable mobile mini-cabins by ROAM Trailers.

Day 2: Hoh Rainforest & Ruby Beach

Stop At: Hoh Rain Forest, 18118 Upper Hoh Road, Olympic National Park, WA
Today, you head into famed forests. We’ll dive into the lush rainforest of the Hoh River Valley, deemed one of the quietest places on Earth, and walk until we find the legendary Sasquatch (okay, we’ll walk as much as we like anyway). At the very least, you’ll experience the wilderness from the perspective of the illusive rainforest residents. What is it like to move quietly through the woods, to find food and shelter, and live largely undetected by humans, even in this day and age? We’ll do some active tracking, discover signs of wildlife, and eavesdrop on the forest and the communications of its inhabitants. Bask in the pristine wilderness, enjoy great food, interesting stories, and connect with this magical place.
Duration: 6 hours

Stop At: Ruby Beach, Olympic National Park, WA
On the way back to camp from the Hoh Rainforest - we'll visit stunning Ruby Beach for some coastal walking among the sea stacks.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Kalaloch Lodge at Olympic National Park, 157151 US-101, Forks, WA 98331, USA
When the dinner bell finally rings we’ll make the quick trip down the road to a water-view dinner at historic Kalaloch Lodge. Then it’s back home for a sundowner, a walk on the beach, and some time fireside to wind down the day.
Duration: 3 hours

Day 3: Lake Crescent & Hurricane Ridge

Stop At: Crescent Lake, Lake Crescent Rd, Olympic National Park, WA 98363
We’ll enjoy a relaxed morning exploring: sleep in if you like, comb the beach, or snap photos of the morning sun painting crashing waves before we launch into our final day of adventure. After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to our camp and head inland once more. We’ll visit gorgeous glacial Lake Crescent and a few hidden gems before heading to our main attraction for the day, everyone’s alpine favorite – Hurricane Ridge.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park, WA
We’ll drive up away from the sea, clear the canopy of forests above Port Angeles, and reach the (sometimes) toothy winds of the aptly named mountain meadow. After a filling lunch we’ll pack up some water and walk. The trees huddle close together to brace against now-forgotten winter storms and wind-swept branches point the direction of shelter. We’ll hear tales of Yeti, bigfoot’s alpine cousin, while we soak in the vastness of the valleys, rivers, and forests dropping away below us to the coast. As the snow-capped Olympic Mountains rise jagged in the distance, we can admire the tiny story of lichen written in the rocks at our feet – life is hidden everywhere.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Seattle Ferry Terminal, 801 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98104, USA
When tired, we’ll find our way back down the mountain and onto a ferry, and our last crossing together, as we return to the Emerald City. Together we’ll return across Puget Sound to downtown Seattle (in time for dinner) for drop off at your location of choice.
