Nisqually National Refuge and Tumwater Falls Salmon Ladder Park-From Tacoma

Come spend the day taking in the sites of this amazing natural refuge, where over 200 species of bird can be found at the estuary throughout the year. The estuary is either lived in or at least visited by large quantities of song birds, water fowl, raptors and shorebirds. Bring your camera and make sure you look up into the canopy, look down into the foliage, and look far into the distance of this amazing park. Life abounds here, but you have to find it.
The refuge is also home to coyote, beaver, deer, river otter, mink, garter snake, newt, salmon, turtle and a variety of frogs, so keep your eyes open. You never know what you might find!
