Seattle Guided Forest Meditation & Relaxing Hike
Your trip will begin when your guide and instructor pick you up at your downtown Seattle hotel in a comfortable high-roof, extended length van. You will be handed an energizing smoothie to get you going in the morning. We’ll drive about 30-40 minutes out of Seattle to a pristine forested location. Your mini-retreat experience will begin with a purposeful walk through the forest. We will stop frequently to notice the scent and texture of leaves, sense the touch of the breeze on our skin, admire flowers and pause to notice the scent of the rich soil and decay happening beneath our feet. This walk is a path to separate ourselves, albeit temporarily, from the noise and distraction of the urban world. Your guide will provide instructions on how to walk through this environment with purpose and on how how to open your senses. Once we arrive at a clearing in the forest, your will begin 75 minutes of guided meditation practice.
When selecting a spot to meditate in the forest, your instructor will consider factors such as light intensity, what the five senses are likely to pick up on in our surrounding environment, as well as personal preferences. We will choose a comfortable meditative posture (posture aids will be provided if needed), and adjust our attire (based on warm or cool weather) so we can allow ourselves to relax every part of the body. As we settle in, you will start by listening to the natural world all around us, breathing in the moment and finding yourself. After the conclusion of the meditation session, you will walk another 30 minutes out of the forest and enjoy a blend of freshly brewed artisan teas and light vegan refreshments before the group heads back to Seattle.
