About this activity
This is a truly comprehensive experience of the amazingly varied landscape and fascinating ancient history of Northern Arizona.

This tour, fully narrated by your fun and knowledgeable guide, begins at your hotel in Sedona and climbs through scenic Oak Creek Canyon from 4,500 feet above sea level to 7,200 feet onto the Colorado Plateau, where you will have stunning views of Arizona´s largest mountain, the San Francisco Peaks - a 12,633 foot volcano.

Just to the west of the San Francisco Peaks, you will pass Sunset crater, Arizona's youngest volcano which last erupted in 1064. Take a stroll through the scenic lava fields of the San Francisco Volcanic Field before visiting Wupatki National Monument, an ancient Pueblo ruin from 500 A.D. with 100 rooms, a ball court and an ancient weather forecast system.

Next up, enjoy a sit-down lunch at historic Cameron trading post, where you can taste authentic Navajo Taco, hot beef or the Navajo Stew. Shop for Native American arts and crafts and marvel at views of the Painted Desert to the north.

Now you are off to the Grand Canyon, glimpsing the stark cliffs of the Little Colorado River Gorge before reaching the National Park and taking in magnificent views of the world's greatest gorge. Upon arrival at the Grand Canyon, you will stop at multiple overlooks and your guides will give you all the information of the Grand Canyon's history, flora, fauna, geology and archeology as well as stories of the good old days. You will also have time on your own at the overlooks.

The last stop at the Grand Canyon will be the Village, where you can visit the Lobby of the El Tovar Hotel or the Hopi house.

As the shadows lengthen, you will return home to the sun spectacularly setting over the Colorado Plateau.
