Hidden Folk Village - Day Tour
After hotel pick up in downtown Seoul, we will drive south to Oeam village, an approximately 2 hours drive.
At Oeam village, we will start our tour at the open-air Folk Museum located along a gentle stream. We will be able to learn about the village farming traditions and history. Then, we will head to the upper side to discover the real village. Currently, there are 69 households residing in the town, and 38 of them are engaged in farming. Most of the houses are thatch-roofed but we will also find in the village several tile-roofed noblemen’s houses with beautiful green grass gardens. We will walk along the handmade stonewalls that surrounds the houses, a key characteristic of this village, enjoying a mystic feeling of taken back in time of 400 years. We will also walk along the artificial waterway, made to prevent fire back in the days, a beautiful and eco-friendly and ecological landscape.
We will admire the Hanok architecture blending with the green gardens and surrounding mountains, soaking in the Korean traditional design and atmosphere. We will enjoy a traditional Korean handmade tea in one of the most beautiful nobleman Hanok. Relax in its beautiful grass garden with thick trees blending with ponds and stones.
We will then have Korean traditional meal lunch in a old market square on top of a open-patio in a antique Hanok surrounded by green mountain views.
After lunch, we will take the car to a temple nearby the village, where we will enjoy traditional teas handmade by the monks. After the tea, you will have time to independently explore the village and immerse in rice fields and countryside nature and enjoy the folk village one more time before leaving to Seoul.
