One-Day Hike and Explore the Wonder of Seoraksan National Park from Seoul

With 70 percent of its landscape being mountains, Korea is a veritable playground for hiking enthusiasts. Korea’s most prominent mountain is Seoraksan with breathtaking pinnacles, deep granite beautiful valleys, scenic waterfalls and stunning long ridges, located on the east-central Korean peninsula, and is the most popular with tourists and hikers. Seoraksan was introduced by CNN as a gorgeous mountain for hike in Korea in 2017.

Seoraksan is listed by the Korean government with UNESCO as a tentative World Heritage site and designated as a nature reserve in 1965 and UNESCO designated it as a biosphere reserve in 1982. The reserve has an area of 163.6 square kilometers (63.2 sq mi) and includes many mountain peaks measuring over 1,200 meters above sea level, the tallest being Daecheongbong, at an altitude of 1,708 meters (5,604 ft). The ranges are composed largely of dissected granite and gneiss.

This National park is valued for its floral diversity. There are about 1,013 species of plants known, with 822 vascular plant species. 1,562 animal species have been classified so far. Cultural landmarks in the reserve include the Buddhist temples, Baekdamsa and Sinheungsa. Seoraksan was introduced by CNN as a gorgeous mountain for hike in South Korea in 2017.

After starting from trailhead, Sogongwon Park, you reach Biseondae (the platform for flying immortal spirit). It has been a favorite destination for poets and calligraphers interested in enjoying beautiful nature. Many letters, including “Biseondae,” are inscribed on the rock. Going up higher after passing Biseondae, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of Cheonbuldong Valley. You will also see Gwimyeonam Rock(Scary ghost face shaped rock) as it stood at the entrance of Cheonbuldong Valley. You will hike to Cheonbuldong valley which is one of the most spectacular valleys in Korea.This trail is a little taste of heaven, and its beauty will leave you wanting to come back time and time again. This trail is moderate.

During hiking, delicious Korean hiking lunch and snack are serviced. After hike, we stop at a Buddhist temple(Sinheungsa) located near the entrance of Seoraksan. Afterwards, we will take you to the hotel.
