About this activity
You will leave Seville to aim to reach the border. Once you have crossed the border you will visit the main tourist attractions of Gibraltar with a local guide. Through this you will get a real sense of one of the most southern parts of Europe. You will then travel to the nature reserve where you will make a stop at the legendary pillar of Hercules.

Your journey will then proceed to the caves of San Miguel, an incredible cave in the heart of “La Roca” which translates directly as “The Rock”. La Roca has some incredible formation such as stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors will get the opportunity to see the apes of Gibraltar; these are the only ones that roam freely in the European continent.

The tour of the nature reserve will conclude with a fantastic views from the mountain where you can watch Africa, Europe, The mediterranean sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

After the tour along the top, you will have time to visit Main Street which is renowned for its range of shops and second hand markets. It´s a great place to find some bargains and has really put Gibraltar on the map. After enjoying some free time you will then return to Seville.

This was one of my favorite tours. We had a small group, five females and two amazing tour guides throughout the day. We started on the drive to Gibraltar with a stop for breakfast and toilets on the way. Our driver recommended what we eat for breakfast. Once we got to the border, we switched to a local tour guide. Both guides were incredibly knowledge, funny, and wonderful to talk to. There is a few hours free time in Gibraltar after the local tour. We used our time to go to the beach and step foot into the ocean.

I must admit reading some of the reviews on this excursion had me thinking twice about spending 150/ea. for this. I'm happy we decided to go. The trip down was only 2.5 hours, not 3, and we made it back in 2. Our tour guide with Naturanda Tours we actually booked through Viator was Federico and he was amazing! Totally engaging and sharing great information along the way. Don't forget to bring your passports as Gibraltar is a British Territory. Be prepared to switch tour guides when you get there, as you hop on a bus with others and pick up a few others at local hotels before you actually start the tour...Federico stayed with us the whole time. Highlights were the monkeys, the amazing views of the straight and Africa and St. Micheals cave. The scenic countryside was amazing to see as well with all the bulls and olive orchards.

Having experienced the Gibraltar Day Tour from Seville I have to say although we weren't disappointed with Gibraltar itself the tour was very poorly run. 1 The van was ok but small without much room. 2The guide was very nice but didn't seem to be experienced or have much knowledge. 3 Also there were no offers of stop for a toilet break and it took 3 hrs from the time we left till we got there-in any other tours there always has been at least one toilet stop 4It seemed very rushed and not relaxed in any way and thank goodness we asked what time we would have lunch as after 2pm was a long time from breakfast at 7am as there was no information given by the guide until we asked. 5 also the driver we had on the island, although knowledgeable was a elderly pompous very rude man who wouldn't use his air conditioning when requested even though we were sweltering in the back of his van. 6 he was also very obnoxious to our lady guide whenever she asked any questios So we did like seeing Girbraltar but no thanks to the above tour

This tour had some good highlights but some less than satisfactory aspects. The drive to Gibraltar could have been improved with better and far clearer explanations of the scenery and areas we passed through. Instead, all participants found our guide pleasant but his English was so heavily accented as to be incomprehensible, which was very unfortunate. Once we reached Gibraltar, we were transferred to a local minivan and driver to be taken to the top of the rock. His explanations were extremely good and useful, and the sight of the apes with new born babies at close quarters was great. Once we were returned from the summit we were left to wander the massive shopping precinct for lunch and shopping for several hours. The choice of food was dominated everywhere by British style fish and chips, which sounded good as Gibraltar is surrounded by both the Atlantic and Mediterranean waters, so we expected some great fresh fish. No, we were told, the cod comes from Iceland and is frozen! Go figure! So we opted out and had a coffee elsewhere. Unless you like shopping at for supposedly duty free prices at UK branded stores, this was almost the most unappealing part of the trip. The worst was experienced as our minivan was caught in a total traffic gridlock for 45 minutes as it crawled a distance of less than 500 metres trying to get off Gibraltar. Apparently, this happens every single day, as day trippers leave, and is even worse on weekends. It is worsened by slow and inefficient and ineffective passport control staff. If shopping at UK stores at so called tax free prices appeals then this might make up for the rest - although prices seemed far too high. The chance to see Gibraltar made the trip worthwhile but its organisation needs improvement.

We took this tour on July 3, 2017. Our tour guide Lucas was wonderful! He shared great information and really helped us understand the people of southern Spain. Our group was our family of 3 and one other couple. It was so nice to have someone else driving and to hear all of the information. When we entered Gibraltar we picked up an additional tour guide who drove us around and showed us the sights. The views from the rock were great. Very interesting to learn the history. The monkeys were very cute and not bothersome unless people were not smart about it. We also liked the free time at the end of the visit to explore and get lunch.
