TOUR VELASQUEZ VS MURILLO IN SEVILLA
Diego Velazquez was a baroque painter considered as one of the leading representatives of Spanish painting and one of the masters of universal painting. He spent his early years in Sevilla, where he developed a naturalistic style based on chiaroscuro. When he was 24, he moved to Madrid. He is well known in the history of art across Europe.
But who was Murillo?
He is part of the main representatives of the Golden Age in painting and the leader of Sevilla School, the second artistic centre of Spain in the 17th century after Madrid. Unlike his Andalusian predecessors and contemporaries, he never left Sevilla and received no orders from the Spanish court. But his work deserves to be recognized!
During the visit, your English-speaking guide will take you to the most important places that made the history of the city, and to places that matter to these two artists, underlining their differences and experiences; for a complete artistic experience!
