Huangshan Mountain 3-Day Experience from Shanghai by High-Speed Train

Day 1: (Dinner Included)

At 6 a.m., meet your driver at your hotel in Shanghai’s city center. Board an air-conditioned minivan to transfer to the railway station for your morning high-speed train to Huangshan. Upon arrival in Huangshan meet your local tour guide and driver. Your guide then brings you to visit Huangshan, and places you on a shuttle bus to Yungu Cable Car station, which takes about 30 minutes. From here, take the cable car up and take in the views. In the evening, stay overnight on the top of the mountain.

Day 2: (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Included)

After breakfast, your guide takes you to visit the Xihai Scenic Area, including the Cloud Dispelling Pavillion. After that, have lunch at the foot of Mount Huangshan, the 'Yellow Mountain.' Savor a typical Anhui lunch at a local restaurant, then take the cable car down. Next, visit Yixian and Hongcun Village. These villages have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to their traditional Southern Anhui-style architecture.

Many films were shot here, including the Oscar-winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Nanping. Hongcun is arranged in the shape of an ox with the nearby hill (Leigang) interpreted as the head, and the two trees standing on it as the horns. Bridges across the local streams can be seen as the legs, while the houses of the village form the body. There are about 150 residences there today, dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Drive back to Huangshan where you will check in to your hotel and have dinner.

Day 3: (Breakfast and Lunch included)

Take a morning tour to visit the Tunxi Old Street, which has a huge selection of shops, old Anhui-style architecture, and restaurants serving local food. Have lunch at a local restaurant here and spend some time souvenir shopping. You then transfer to the train station so that you may take your train back to Shanghai independently.
