4-Hour Private Customized Shanghai City Tour

We enjoyed our walking tour of the city. Lily our guide talked to us about where we could go and we went specifically to places of interest to us. We had the option to walk or take the metro and Lily pointed out many things of interest to us as we went along. Shanghai is full of history and very cosmopolitan at the same time. We had a much deeper understanding of the people and the place by just talking to Lily, she had much to share from history to architecture to technology and what drives Shanghai today. I highly recommend it.

Ping (kelly) was a great guide. She was very flexible and accommodating for our (not so organised) group of 6. She met us promptly at our requested address. Ping immediately started giving us information, an excellent trait in a guide. Whenever there was a moment to talk, she would be telling us something about where we were going or where we had been. Almost didn't need to ask any questions! We moulded a tour using her experience and some sites that we specifically wanted to see. The tour was seamless from start to finish. The tour moved logically from location to location, removing unnecessary drive time/walking time between destinations making our 4 hours as efficient as possible. Ping had a deep knowledge of every location we visited, even with the sites that we had asked her to add on! She also provided her perspectives on the history of sites which proved to be invaluable, especially at the propaganda museum. She was friendly and open to questions throughout and I would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Shanghai. We had an excellent and productive time.

Had an amazing tour with PENNY! She is the perfect host, super knowledgeable about her city, warm and very personable. She was able to answer all my questions and more in perfect English. We visited an over a century old French Park and witnessed a Taiji master practicing, felt so calm and peaceful by just watching him play. We also visited the famous Jade Buddha Temple and Yu Garden through which l learned so much about the different religions in China. And Penny was able to point out those small details and explained the profound meanings behind them for which l surely would miss travelling on my own. We finished up with a delicious Chinese meal of her recommendation which clearly was very popular among the locals. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting this great city.

Penny from Shanghai Melody through Viator is a 5 star guide! She is so very knowledgeable, friendly, creative and flexible. Met us and took us on a private custom combined walking, taxi tour of many sights in the French concession and was an expert historian and very fun. So good in fact that I booked an additional half day to see sights she recommended; and old 1700s private home/library not open to the public, Confucius temple, and Peace Hotel to name a few.
