The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located at the tip of Lujiazui Financial Trade Zone in the Pudong New Area by the side of Huangpu River.It started to be constructed since 1991, and the tower was completed in 1994.With the height of 468 m (1,535 feet), the tower features 11 spheres, big and small. It is said to be based on a verse of the Tang Dynasty poem Pipa Song by Bai Juyi about the wonderful sprinkling sound of a pipa instrument, like pearls, big and small falling on a jade plate.

Your guide will take you to the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel which is a tourist attraction consisting of slow-moving underground vehicles moving between the Bund and Lujiazui accompanied by light and sound effects in the tunnel.

Coming out of the tunnel, you will be just at the Bund which is called Waitan in Chinese and is a waterfront area located at the west bank of the Huangpu Rive in central Shanghai. The Bund houses 52 buildings of various architectural styles, generally Eclecticist, but with some buildings displaying predominantly Romanesque Revival, Gothic Revival, Renaissance Revival, Baroque Revival, Neo-Classical or Beaux-Arts styles, and a number in Art Deco style.

Your guide will show you around Shanghai Museum,which was originally founded in 1952 and now it covers an area of 11 thousand square meters. The new museum has a special architectural style of a square base and a circular top which has a meaning of ancient Chinese belief “Round sky and square earth”. Shanghai Museum has nearly one million collections of which there are 120 thousand pieces of precious cultural relics, especially bronze wares, ceramics, calligraphy and painting.

Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall was built to show the achievement of the city planning and construction. It has many functions, such as exhibition, reference, research, communication, recreation and entertainment. The main body of the building covers Shanghai's development from ancient times to the present and beyond. There is a city model made to a scale of 1/500, is 600 square meters and the largest in the world. The view of a future Shanghai is presented with high technology such as virtual reality and fantasy-view magic vision. The big city planning lifelike model displays for you the city's vista of the future.

Soak in the bustle of this pedestrianized street, a microcosm of modern China, and take a stroll to peruse the stores and purchase souvenirs.
