Half Day Private Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town with Boat Ride from Shanghai

What a nice half day excursion to get away from the hustle of the city. We heard about these quaint little water towns on our tour of Shanghai. We are so glad we went. It was just me and my husband and we were picked up promptly at our hotel. The communicators prior to the trip were excellent. We switched hotels mud-trip and there was no problem making sure they picked us up at the new hotel. Our guide, Lynn, was amazing!!!. It was a 45 minute car ride to get there (longer back because of holiday traffic for which we were well warned ). She started at the onset to give us information about China and the history of these such towns. She was younger and energetic and excited to teach us new information. The nice part about the private car is that you get dropped off and picked up right in front. The city reminds me of Venice with little bridges and alleyways everywhere. Included was entrance to the beautiful gardens and the Temple in the town and a boat ride. All were great. Plus a bonus artist exhibition in the town!. Lynn was well knowledged and full of historical facts which we were quick to absorb. She showed us the shops and explained unique items and foods for sale and even bought us iced bites (liquid nitrogen ) which make it look like you are breathing Dragon smoke when you bite into it. Even tell local policeman laughed as I ate it! The alleyways are full of shops if you want to catch up on souvenirs. Lynn even helped us try to bargain on prices. It was a great trip and didn't take up the whole day so we came back still with energy to explore more of Shanghai. I would highly recommend this trip and Lynn. You won't be disappointed!!

I wanted a half day tour and decided this would be the one as a private tour. I was not disappointed! Take this tour and be sure to request Berlin and take it private. She is extremely knowledgeable and very personable. She took her time to take us on this tour and explain everything in detail. She was able to answer our numerous question and introduce us to new things. We never felt rushed. This is a great contrast of new Shanghai vs old Shanghai. Be sure to ask for Berlin! Her boss Sophie also helped me out with an issue with an tour agency. Class act totally recommend this group!

We had an amazing time as Berlin was very knowledgeable about the water town. She helped us find the best food to eat and also helped us try local delicacy’s. She is very helpful and also an amazing guide!

This tour has been the highlight of our trip to shanghai! The water village was stunning, and I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone thinking about whether or not to book a water village. Lin, our guide was brilliant, she gave us so many facts and pieces of helpful information along the way to the village and during the tour. It was great to learn so much about China. We couldn’t have asked for a friendlier guide. The gardens and gift shops were stunning. And we opted to include the meal at the end of the day, it was absolutely delicious, possibly one of the nicest meals we have eaten so far in Shanghai! I would highly recommend including the food option as well. The driver both and both guides, we had Alana join us as well made the whole afternoon more enjoyable.

Today we had amazing tour to see the zhujiajiao village. Our private guide Snow was excellent, very attentive and very informative. She showed us beautiful temple, gave us gondolas ride and walked with us through the whole village. Snow even bought us different kind of local food to welcome us to the country and introduce local traditions. We had wonderful time today, thanks to our lovely guide Snow. We also want to thank our driver Mr Gao for smooth and comfortable drive.

Our guide Wilson met us in our hotel lobby and the ride to Water Town was easy and enjoyable. Throughout the tour Wilson provided unique insight, including during the tour of the garden and Buddha temple. The boat ride was enjoyable too. I’d highly recommend the tour to anyone traveling to Shanghai.

Berlin was great. Super friendly and personable/easy to talk to and go around the town with. She was timely and respectful and also very knowledgeable about China and the water town. I would recommend this tour and Berlin to anyone visiting Shanghai!

We had an incredible day at Zhujiajiao water town with Queena. The visit to the Kezhi Garden was wonderful. We tried a number of unique and unforgettable local dishes like rice dumplings, sugar painting, sugar cane juice, and salty tofu flower. The boat trip was a great way to end our tour. Queena was super nice, helpful and very knowledgeable. We are very happy that we took this great tour, definitely a highlight from our visit to Shanghai.

We had an amazing time on our tour with Snow. It felt like we were exploring the town with a good friend as opposed to being on a formal tour. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Mr Tao our driver was so lovely as well. Nothing was too hard for them both and they went out of there way to ensure we had a great day. Thank you very much. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and very generous with his time and suggestions. Our tour exceeded expectations. The water town was charming and Charlie took us to so many unique places there. The food was the best we have had since we have been in China! Charlie was a tremendous host. We spent the past few hours with Snow in Zhujiajiao water village. Snow was a very good tour guide. She told us history and facts about the places we went. She helped us try foods and get pricing on things. She speaks very good English and told us about Shanghai on the drive to the village. She was very good with my kids! And very friendly. She also helped me exchange money when I was having trouble. She always made sure we were OK for toilets and drinks and snacks. The driver was also very good and safe. I highly recommend them for this tour! Really interesting place to go and see.

Snow was a very good tour guide. We greatly enjoyed the tour to Zhujiajiao water village. We all enjoyed the boat ride down the canal and gardens. Overall was a great tour.

This tour was one of our highlights while in Shanghai. Our tour guide Charlie was great, the tour was great and the lunch was excellent. We loved the historic water town and the gondola style boat ride. I would definitely recommend doing this tour.
