Independent Tour of Suzhou from Shanghai

Your friendly private driver will pick up you from your hotel around 9:00am or at your preferred schedule, and drive directly to Suzhou by a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle (2-hour driving time). 

Upon arrival, you can choose to visit the Humble Administrator's Garden first. Stroll around old houses, ponds, and walkways inside the garden. The garden is considered the model of the modern Chinese Garden. Sitting in the pavilion beside the pond, you will fell like stepping back in history. 

Then, continue your self-guided tour to Tiger Hill or other attractions. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the old Grand Canal. The ancient households and the old city gate wall are along the riverside, and you will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of old times lifestyle and appreciate the charms of old China. You will then head to the Panmen Gate. It is claimed to be the oldest ancient water and land gate in the world for the purpose of defense against enemy armies. You will wander around the park see the well maintained gate all as well as the pagodas.

After lunch break, visit the Pingjiang Road, which is a beautiful old street beside the canal. You will take a private rickshaw along the historic Pingjiang Road, where the driver will take you up and down old streets to see the lifestyle of people and the district.

When tour is finished, you will be transferred back to Shanghai city.
