Private Day-Tour: Suzhou Museum and Tongli Water Town From Shanghai

At 8:30am, your private tour guide will greet you at the lobby of your hotel and transfer you to first stop of the day, Tongli Water Town, with a private vehicle. Tongli is a wonderful cultural destination where you could step back in time and experience marvelous traditional Chinese culture. After exploring Tongli, take a break for lunch at a local restaurant before heading to your next destination.

After lunch, you will drive to Suzhou for Suzhou Museum. The museum was designed by world renown architect, I.M.Pei, who also designed the glass pyramid of the Louvre, and construction was completed in 2006. Suzhou Museum boast a huge collection of jade, porcelain, and bronze. In addition to the impressive collection, there are also calligraphy, Buddhist relics, and antique furniture in its permanent exhibits.

After the museum tour, you will walk a few minutes to the Humble Administrator’s Garden. This garden is the largest and most renowned one among gardens in Suzhou. It is listed as a World Cultural Heritage site and has also been designated as one of the Cultural Relics of National Importance under the Protection of the State as well as a Special Tourist Attraction of China.
