About this activity
Meet your professional guide at your central Shanghai hotel , and travel by private, comfortable, air-conditoned vehicle to Zhujiajiao, one of the best-preserved ancient water towns near the city. Enjoy the flexibility of morning departure at 9:30 a.m or afternoon departure at 1.00p.m please mention in the special request if you prefer other time while make the booking .
After an approximately 1-hour journey, arrive in the town and begin walking with your guide to explore Zhujiajiao’s old narrow alleyways, shops, and historical landmarks, learn the local custom and culture from your knowledgable guide. An optional boat ride is available upon booking.
Take a break for lunch at a local, authentic restaurant to try some traditional chinese-style lunch.
In the afternoon, return to Shanghai and take a tour of the some of the city’s incredible highlights, choosing some attractions and activities based on your time frame from the following:
• The Bund
• Riverside Promenade (Binjiang Da Dao)
• Shanghai Old Town (Yu Garden Bazaar)
• Xintiandi or Tianzifang in the French Concession area
• Jade Buddha Temple
• Skyscraper Visit (Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jinmao Tower or Oriental Pearl Tower)
• River cruise along the Huangpu River
• People’s Square ParkIf you want to see other sights or spend time elsewhere, feel free to discuss your preferences with your guide,your itinerary can be tailored to your interests.
Your tour will end with a transfer back to your hotel or a drop-off at your chosen downtown area upon your request.

This was a personalised tour for a family of 4 with our own guide and vehicle. The guide spoke excellent English, was very informative about the cultural aspects of our destination and took excellent care of my family (that included 2 young kids). Would highly recommend this tour operator.
My guide was Chris, she is funny, smart very friendly and helpful all the time when we was in the tour. If you like to see something very unique historical small city, strongly recommended to see Zhujiajiao Water Town. The best time to visit Fall or Spring, the weather on September was amazing. Also, I love China town in Shanghai City, you will be surprise how beautiful this part of the city and night crus is unforgettable.
Great trip. great guide, shame about the weather but it only slightly detracted from a great experience.
Sunny was a excellent guide! Very sweet and helpful in bargaining with the shop owners to get us a great deal. She even gave us a gift at the end of the tour. We customized our trip by eliminating the Shanghai highlights, so we only did as a half day tour as we had requested. A little disappointed that the price was not adjusted, however. We added this booking the evening before the tour by calling by phone to book. I think had we had more time, I would have picked a different water town to visit, but this is closest to the city and allowed us to have the extra half day free in Shanghai, which we much wanted. Again, Sunny made the trip worth it!
