Miki met me right on time at 9:30 A.M. in the lobby of the Peace Hotel. She collected two other clients there, then took us walking along the Bund. Miki is a library on all matters relating to the history and architecture of the Bund. The two-hour tea ceremony class took place near the Bund in a charming teahouse. I was surprised and impressed to find that Miki herself, rather than the teahouse staff, would be our teacher. I enjoyed Mikis passion for Oolong and green tea, and we received precise instructions on how to brew them properly ourselves. I knew nothing about oolong before but now I truly appreciate it. I also discovered the way I had been making green tea at home was totally wrong. I had always found green tea quite bitter and not at all green in color. Now I know the true art of how to make it. I totally recommend this tour for anyone with even just a small interest in tea. Mikis graceful tea ceremony made me enjoy tea even more, plus there was none of the tourist trap nonsense where you are pressured into buying overpriced goods. Thank you, Miki, I will see you again.
