Stop At: Wuzhen Water Town, No.18 South Shifo Road Wuzhen Town, Tongxiang 314501 China

Wuzhen is located in the northern end of Zhejiang Province, adjacent to Jiangsu Province, and used to be the junction of the two provinces, three governments and seven counties. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Wuzhen was the border between Wu and Yue. Wu had stationed troops here to prevent Yue. At that time, it was called Wuxu. The term "Wuzhen" first appeared in the thirteenth year of Xiantong in Tang Dynasty. During Jiading period of Southern Song Dynasty, Wuqing Town was divided into Wuqing Town, Wuzhen in Hexi and Qingzhen in Hedong. After liberation, Wuzhen was collectively called Wuzhen.

There is also an allusion to the origin of the word "Wuzhen". It is said that during the reign of Tang Xianzongyuan, Li Qi, the assassin of Zhejiang Province, wished to break away from the alleged king, raised his troops and rebelled, and the court ordered General Wuzan to lead the army to fight against him. General Ukraine was highly skilled in martial arts, brave and good at fighting, and defeated the rebels. Li Qi suddenly put up a truce on the riverside of the city. While General Wu was camping on the spot to wait for another war, Li Qi raided the camp late that night. General Uruguay rushed to the battle, and eventually fell into the trap set by Li Qi and was shot dead by rebel rebel arrows. Although the war was lost, General Uzan's integrity, loyalty and patriotism made the people admire him very much. In order to commemorate him, we changed the name of the town to "Wuzhen" by his surname.

The Xizhang Scenic Area of Wuzhen Phase II is adjacent to the ancient Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal River, covering an area of three square kilometers. It consists of 12 islands surrounded by blue water and 72 ancient stone bridges of different shapes. Ferries are required to enter the scenic area. Compared with the first stage of Donggai scenic spot, the second stage of protection and development is more complete and thorough, and people and environment, nature and architecture are more harmonious. The old Xigai Street across the scenic area is 1.8 kilometers long, and the water Pavilion on both sides of the river stretches more than 1.8 kilometers. There are 250,000 square meters of beautiful Ming and Qing buildings in the whole scenic area. It has really become the best tourist destination for sightseeing, leisure, vacation and business activities.
