DetailsThis walk takes you through Shimla's oldest structures and heritage sites which date back to the 1880s. Shimla was notably a favourite among the Britishers, and many of the heritage sites being visited in this walk will narrate the stories of its past. Meet your host at Christ Church and begin the walk towards the Gaiety theatre, a popular theatre during the British Raj. Post this, visit other landmarks like General Post Office, Imperial Bank, Railway Board Building, Gorton Castle, Knockdrin, Kennedy Cottage, and Cecil Hotel. All these structures were popular during British India and the officer's often vacationed in this 'summer capital of India'. Lastly, end the tour at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, also known as Viceregal Lodge or Rashtrapati Niwas in the past, and learn about its Indo-Gothic architecture.
