Full Day Koh Yao Noi by Catamaran

An early morning pick-up from your Phuket hotel brings you and your fellow travelers over to the eastern harbour port for a comfortable catamaran ride to Koh Yao Noi. With around 6000 inhabitants and just 45 square kilometres, is one of the largest islands surrounding Phuket with its contours quickly approaching after an approximately 1.5 hour sailing trip. The main objective is getting over to ‘Ruen Rim Rai’ – an example of how the islanders maintain a self-sustainable means of living. Instigated by the late King of Thailand, this Sufficient Economy Philosophy forms the backbone of a small, yet thriving economy model, ranging from fishing to aquatic farming. A local Thai lunch will be served at Ruen Rim Rai. A lunch without tasting Kanok Krok (traditional desert) and even getting the basics underway on how this is made is definitely a must. We continue our exploratory tour by bicycle – it remains one of the more favourable means to travel around, see locals farming, passing local settlements and enjoying the views without western influence in sight. After a moment of respite, it is time to make our way back to the main boat pier for the catamaran trip back to the shores of Phuket. A visit to Koh Yao Noi is not complete without getting a glimpse of how the local fishing industry works and how it has maintained a source of income for the residents of Koh Yao.
