We head to one of Thailand’s most pristine group of islands in the early morning by joined speed boat, approximately 60 kilometers off the Phang Nga coast.

Keeping easily up with other tropical destinations around the world in terms of breathtaking beauty, azure-blue waters as clear as glass and swaying palm trees, casting a shadow of sugary-white, sandy beaches on uninhabited islands. If all this sounds too good to be true, well, it is actually true! The Surin Islands are one of Thailand’s most treasured National Marine Parks where five main islands provide snorkeling sites that exceed expectations. In addition, this group of islands is home to the Moken, a nomadic group of sea-faring people that came originally from Indonesia with the Moken name from their own language, which is universal to all sea gypsy groups.

The Surin Islands offer a world-class snorkeling destination with great water visibility with of tropical marine life swimming below the surface. Without any accommodation available on these islands, the true bounty-island feeling comes to live as soon as you see these pearls in the ocean dooming up above the horizon. In the morning we visit Mae Yai Bay and Chong Kard Bay for swimming, sunbathing or simply exploring the beauty of these destinations. A leisurely set lunch is served at the Chong Kard Surin Information Centre.

Then it is time for more snorkeling at Ao Tao where it is possible to view magnificent sea turtles. The island area is one source of the big and best fertile shallow coral reef of Thailand with its surrounding coral colonies being the most well developed in Thailand. Pak Kard Bay is the last stop before returning to the mainland by speed boat and to your Khao Lak resort.
