The key is in the name Easy Thai Cooking, and it's clear that the intent is to ensure you can make the dishes again once you get home. The morning starts in the local market where we got shown how to select the fresh ingredients and honestly what some of them were. Then a series of demo's then practice on preparation for each of 4 dishes, followed by cooking demo then practice. The other piece of wisdom was You Eat What You Cook, So Adjust as you Want. One other thing I really liked is that a few times were were explained what the traditional way was to prepare something, and then told what the easy way was with contemporary kitchen equipment. We made spring rolls, pad-thai, Green Curry and mango sticky rice. This was a fun activity for both my wife a capable cook, and me I'll just say, less skilled, so anyone can do this and enjoy themselves.

Fabulous experience. Kaan picked us up from our hotel in Karon Beach in her lovely car and drove us to her spotlessly clean cooking school. We were the only two people for that particular class. We stopped along the way to buy fresh ingredients from a local market and also fresh coconut milk from a little factory. We cooked Tom Yum soup, green curry making the curry paste from scratch, pad thai our favourite! and sticky rice with mango. Kaan was just so lovely, very helpful and had a great sense of humour. We ate our dishes for lunch and had the pleasure of sharing them with a couple of members of her family who were visiting. After the class Kaan drove us to Patong and dropped us at the shopping mall which was an extra bonus. A really fabulous experience and the highlight of our trip to Phuket. Highly recommended to travellers of all ages - we are both in our 70s!!

This was such an amazing experience. We were the only 2 people on this tour and our guide still ran the tour. She was absolutely fantastic with a private pickup from our hotel and then stops at two local markets to purchase all of the ingredients for our cooking. Then we proceeded to her kitchen where she provided bottled water, a recipe book which we were able to take home with us, along with hands on instructions on how to make several authentic Thai dishes. The food we made was absolutely amazing and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. To top things off our guide even had to go boxes ready so we could take our leftovers of yummy Thai food back to our hotel to enjoy over the next few days. This was an absolutely phenomenal tour and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Phuket.

I would highly recommend this tour!! The lady who delivered the class took us around the local shops for ingredients and also plucked some plants directly from her garden!! She made the course fun, friendly and unforgettable. The portions were great, the kitchen was clean and the food was amazing!

Brilliant half day cooking class plus lots of extras. Karn was a lovely host who spoke excellent English she also speaks Russian and Chinese !. First we went shopping in the local supermarket for ingredients and then to get some coconut milk - made as we waited and ate some lovely little pancakes. Then to Karn's home for the class. Before starting to cook, Karn showed me the herbs and other plants in her garden and we picked some for the dishes. She also made me a beautiful tea from blue flowers. The tea was a rich blue colour which changed to deep purple when I added some lime juice. As I did the Sunday class I got to chose my dishes which was great, being green curry with tofu, pad thai, fishcakes and mango sticky rice. Karn showed me how to make a green curry paste from scratch and prepare the ingredients for all the dishes, adjusting amounts to my taste - it was all so easy. The actual cooking was very quick, all done in a wok. We then sat down to some of the most delicious Thai food I've had and I'm not just saying that because I made it - haha. I got to take the leftovers with me and Karn drove me back to my hotel. I had such a great time, learnt so much and have copies of the recipes so I can make them again at home. Thanks Karn - I hope to learn more dishes with you when I return next to Phuket.
