We loved our trip on the Jit Jau, the boat was a little larger than the June Bahtra as there were quite a few people. The guide called Chang was really good, his English and German were excellent. We travelled on the boat, which was a beautiful smooth sailing. We first visited James Bond Island, where we had to transfer to a long boat! Bit tricky but fine..we arrived and had about half an hour there, long enough to take photos and have a little walk around. So back onto the long boat and off to Koh Paynee the floating muslim village. This was interesting to see but very hot, also felt a little uneasy looking into peoples lives, and seeing kids at the school. Then we went back to the boat and had a fantastic lunch, we then stopped for a little swim and then back to the port, a truly wonderful day.
This was probably the best Viator trip I have been on in years ans we have been on some fantastic trips all around the world. We were picked up at the hotel dead on 7:00am and driven quite away to the inland Marina north of Phuket Town. We had time for a coffee in the poshest marina restaurant watching the boats in the small harbour, before boarding the junk and being introduced to the three/four man crew. Apparently when full there are normally only 20 passengers but it was even better as there were only 11 of us all different nationalities - French, American, Italian, English and all very pleasant people. The trip on the junk to James Bond Island Phang Nga Bay was brilliant with just enough of a sea swell to have the occasional wave crash over the boat adding to the adventure. It was a very hot day so we were al laid out on mats on the deck having refreshments to keep us cool. We transferred to one of the long boats to take us onto the island having chance to tour the caves and the small markets etc before sailing around the bays and meeting back up with the junk for lunch on board which was a very nice buffet with a great choice of food. We then sailed to one of the bays where we had a chance to dive over the side and spend time swimming in the ocean. Then a two hour journey back to the marina and back to the hotels. The trip lasted all day and included a trip to Koh Panyee to see the floating village. All in all a long day but a brilliant time was had by all.
Great views, great food. I love the look of Asian junk boats and so this was a bucket list for me. We had great service and I enjoyed the scenery and riding on this beautiful boat. The food was good too.
The experience was delightful !
Very enjoyable day. Myself and partner were picked up by a taxi and proceeded to the marina. The boat was good and we took a gentle sail to James Bond Island where we transferred to long boats as the water was too shallow for the boat to get close. After this we went to the floating village which could have been missed, the guide could have pointed this out to us rather than us go aboard. We then transferred from the long boat back to the main boat where we had lunch which was very nice. A lovely day soaking up the sun and enjoying the views from the boat.
