About this activity
Your tour starts with pickup at your Phuket hotel and transfer by minivan to your motorboat. After boarding, start your tour to several locations on Phang Nga Bay, part of Ao Phang Nga National Park.
As your boat cruises across the turquoise waters to your first destination, your crew serves up a light lunch. Then listen to a safety briefing from your experienced guides, and enjoy a birds of prey show.
When your boat arrives at the first island, step into a sturdy inflatable kayak that seats two people plus one guide. The custom-designed kayaks were made in the USA by a premier white-water rafting manufacturer, ensuring safety and comfort.
Take in the scenery as your guide paddles your kayak through different hongs (Thai for 'rooms') full of spectacular rock formations and hidden lagoons. While you glide along, listen to your guide's informative commentary about the geology, flora and fauna of the region, and keep your eyes open for wildlife like macaques, water monitors, kingfishers, mudskippers, egrets, sea eagles and brahminy kites. Visit several other spots in the marine park, and enjoy time to rest and snack on the motorboat in between expeditions into the caves.
As the day begins to wind down, watch the sunset from the water, and participate in a ceremony inspired by the Thai holiday Loi Kratong, named after the kratong, a small floating bowl made from banana leaves and decorated with flowers and candles. Make one of your own, and set it afloat on the water with a wish. The flickering candlelight from the kratongs combined with fireflies in the sky and the bioluminescence in the water create an unforgettable natural light display.
While you make your way back toward the shore, feast on a buffet Thai dinner cooked on the boat by the crew, who shop daily for high-quality ingredients like fresh seafood and free-range chicken. You'll return to the pier two hours after sunset to say farewell to your guides and hop in the minivan for transfer back to your hotel.

This was a great experience from start to finish! We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel, making this a very convenient tour experience. This tour was very well organized. Once you get on the boat, one of the tour operators gives you a breakdown of the expedition. You are provided a delightful lunch before setting on kayaks through some sea caves in the bay. The kayaks are driven by experienced guides, many of whom are fishermen and/or live in fishing villages in the area, so they are very comfortable with and knowledgeable of the landscape and wildlife in the area. We had time to swim and kayak in the bay in between cave excursions. We capped off the day with a beautiful ceremony of gratitude to the god of the sea that entailed floating offerings in the caves. We even got to see plankton use bioluminescence to light up the water! You can only have a great time on this tour. Whether you're traveling by yourself or with a group or a significant other, this is a truly wonderful way to spend the day!

We've never seen anything like this in our lives. My 10 year old and I simply loved the adventure of this excursion. The staff was great, and our local guide did an outstanding and amazing job of navigating our sea canoe through the tight spaces in the caves. Simply an unbelievable and wonderful tour!

Awesome trip. A fun boat to be on because the crew was fun, helpful, and friendly. A great crew and boat! They really emphasized safety. The lunch and dinner buffet was fantastic. Especially nice was the kayaking. Such a wonderful experience and beautiful scenery. Plenty of time to swim, snorkle, and have fun. Not ruched and so well organized. A great trip to do again.

I really enjoyed the Sea Cave tour. We were taken to 3 different caves. One regular cave with a view of James Bond Island, one called the Diamond Cave which is beautiful, and a bat cave. Be cautious if you are claustrophobic because there are some tight squeezes. The lunch and dinner provided was very fresh and flavorful. The natives operate the kayak so you can sit back and enjoy the view. Be mindful that you are in THEIR country, so do not expect them to speak perfect English. They are very friendly and beautiful people. Tipping is optional, not required. Wear a bathing suit and flip flops as you will be getting on and off the boat about 3 times, once per cave. After the first cave tour, we were allowed 40 minutes to either swim or kayak without the tour guide. Be careful when swimming, one girl on my boat was stung by what she believed go be a jellyfish! Overall, absolutely beautiful views from the boat and in the caves!
